Festival Of Freedom/Passover 2011

Ellen G. White And The Timing Of
Passover In The Year 2011

March 20th Is Passover The 14th of Aviv
March 21st Thru March 27th Is
The Feast Of Unleavened Bread

"These [are] the feasts of the LORD, [even] holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the fourteenth [day] of the first month at even [is] the LORD's passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month [is] the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day [is] an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work [therein]. Leviticus 23:4-8

Take it or leave it folks. If you believe in the writings of Ellen G. White as being a reliable source for spiritual guidance then we will be entering the season of passover in a couple weeks. If not, well then hey.. as as Alister Crowley once wrote "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law"

I know I'm choppin at the ROOT of the problem so it wont come back and grow into another UNFRUITFUL tree. Sorry if this email offends you but this is how I see it.

Green Ears of Barley Were Sighted in Israel

Passover and Unleavened Bread 2011 according the the writings of Ellen G. White should be celebrated on the following dates.

March 20th is Passover the 14th of Aviv.
March 21st thru March 27th is the feast of unleavened bread.

If you are interested in observing then please contact me at your earliest convenience and we will arrange to meet for communion, a passover meal and foot washing services on the evening of Sunday, March 20th.

If not then I hope to see you all at the second Passover sometime in late April.

The following EGW Quotes are the only time specific commentary she ever made concerning the timing of Passover and unleavened bread.

"There were three annual feasts, the Passover, the Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles, at which all the men of Israel were commanded to appear before the Lord at Jerusalem. Of these feasts the Passover was the most largely attended. Many were present from all countries where the Jews were scattered. From every part of Palestine the worshipers came in great numbers. The journey from Galilee occupied several days, and the travelers united in large companies for companionship and protection. The women and aged men rode upon oxen or asses over the steep and rocky roads. The stronger men and the youth journeyed on foot. The time of the Passover corresponded to the close of March or the beginning of April, and the whole land was bright with flowers, and glad with the song of birds. All along the way were spots memorable in the history of Israel, and fathers and mothers recounted to their children the wonders that God had wrought for His people in ages past. They beguiled their journey with song and music, and when at last the towers of Jerusalem came into view, every voice joined in the triumphant strain,--

                 "Our feet shall stand
                  Within thy gates, O Jerusalem. . . .
                  Peace be within thy walls,
                  And prosperity within thy palaces." DA 76
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

"The first of these festivals, the Passover, the feast of unleavened bread, occurred in Abib, the first month of the Jewish year, corresponding to the last of March and the beginning of April. The cold of winter was past, the latter rain had ended, and all nature rejoiced in the freshness and beauty of the springtime. The grass was green on the hills and valleys, and wild flowers everywhere brightened the fields. The moon, now approaching the full, made the evenings delightful. It was the season so beautifully pictured by the sacred singer:
                                                                           538

          "The winter is past,
           The rain is over and gone;
           The flowers appear on the earth;
           The time of the singing of birds is come,
           And the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
           The fig tree ripeneth her green figs,
           And the vines are in blossom,
           They give forth their fragrance." Song of Solomon 2:11-13, R.V.  {PP 537.3}

Other EGW quotes to consider
"The computation of the prophetic periods on which that message was based, placing the close of the 2300 days in the autumn of 1844, stands without impeachment. 458 GC88 - The Great Controversy (1888)

Please notice that Ellen White did NOT say "October 22nd 1844 stands without impeachment" but rather she said "the autumn of 1844, stands without impeachment.".
This means that the day of atonement in 1844 could have occurred one month earlier on September 22nd 1844.

Scriptures For The Season

Luke 22:13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide [it] among yourselves:
22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake [it], and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup [is] the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
22:21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me [is] with me on the table.
22:22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
22:23 And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
22:24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
22:25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
22:26 But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
22:27 For whether [is] greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? [is] not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

John

13:4     He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.

13:5     After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel wherewith he was girded.

13:6     Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

13:7     Yahushua answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

13:8     Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Yahushua answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

13:9     Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands and [my] head.

13:10   Yahushua saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash [his] feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

13:11   For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

13:12   So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?

13:13   Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am.

13:14   If I then, [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

13:15   For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

13:16   Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

13:17   If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

13:18   I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

13:19   Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am [he].

13:20   Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

13:21   When Yahushua had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

13:22   Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.

13:23   Now there was leaning on Yahushua' bosom one of his disciples, whom Yahushua loved.

13:24   Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.

13:25   He then lying on Yahushua' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

13:26   Yahushua answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped [it]. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave [it] to Judas Iscariot, [the son] of Simon.

13:27   And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Yahushua unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

13:28   Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.

13:29   For some [of them] thought, because Judas had the bag, that Yahushua had said unto him, Buy [those things] that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

13:30   He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

13:31   Therefore, when he was gone out, Yahushua said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

13:32   If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

13:33   Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

13:34   A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

13:35   By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1 Corinthians 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
11:25 After the same manner al so [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.
11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.
11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of [that] bread, and drink of [that] cup.
11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
