Three Blind Dogs - Three False And Fanatical Teachers Of Prophecy Leading God's People Astray

Dear fellow Seventh-day Adventists,
It is with much sadness and grief that I have to publish another newsletter exposing apostasy within our ranks. In the video below David Barron does a fantastic job of carefully exposing false prophets David Gates, Walter Veith and Luis Munilla. All of these men are guilty deceiving their listeners by setting failed dates for Messiah's second coming. According to Sister White these men are are not bad men but they are

1. teachers of deception
2. first day Adventists
3. false prophets

When these men continue to ignore good counsel and continue to stubbornly set failed dates for Messiah's second coming they give solid evidence that they do not understand, nor do they believe in the Millerite movement and the fulfillment of the 2300 day prophecy in Daniel 8:14 which prophecy ended in the fall of 1844 when the antitypical day of atonement commenced and Messiah commenced the investigative judgment.

Daniel 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

While these men have had a great influence upon me and many others in and out of the church and have encouraged many to carefully study God's word over the years, I do not appreciate the deceptions they teach on this particular subject and it is absolutely necessary for me to take a public stand against their false prophecies so that others will know where I stand on the subject of date setting. This is especially important in the case of Luis Munilla who I have greatly admired for his incredible work ethic, knowledge of the statutes which feast days are statutes per (Leviticus 23:14, 21, 31, 41), his family values and devotion to the cause of distributing The Great Controversy over the decades.

I have known and worked with Luis in the international distribution of the book The Great Controversy in several countries in the mid 1990's and while doing so I harvested from him a wealth of knowledge on the subject of the statutes God spoke by the hand of Moses and the Leviticus 23 feast days which were observed by the apostles and their convers until the day they died. Luis provided rock solid Biblicasl evidence that caused me to know for a certainty that what the Masters of Divinity graduates were taught at Andrews University seminary school was a false teachig. The Bible teaches that the feast days are prophetic in nature and they are shadws of great things to transpire in the future!

"We are not of that class who define the exact period of time that shall elapse before the coming of Jesus the second time with power and great glory. Some have set a time, and when that has passed, their presumptuous spirits have not accepted rebuke, but they have set another and another time; but many successive failures have stamped them as false prophets. "The secret things belong unto the Lord our God; but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever." Notwithstanding the fact that there are false prophets, there are also those who are preaching the truth as pointed out in the Scriptures. With deep earnestness, with honest faith, prompted by the Holy Spirit, they are stirring minds and hearts by showing them that we are living near the second coming of Christ, but the day and hour of His appearing are beyond the ken of man; for "of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only." {Fundamentals of Christian Education 335.1}

 

"Let all our brethren and sisters beware of anyone who would set a time for the Lord to fulfill His word in regard to His coming, or in regard to any other promise He has made of special significance. "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power." False teachers may appear to be very zealous for the work of God, and may expend means to bring their theories before the world and the church; but as they mingle error with truth, their message is one of deception, and will lead souls into false paths. They are to be met and opposed, not because they are bad men, but because they are teachers of falsehood and are endeavoring to put upon falsehood the stamp of truth." {TM 55.1}

"Those who think they must preach definite time in order to make an impression upon the people do not work from the right standpoint. The feelings of the people may be stirred and their fears aroused, but they do not move from principle. An excitement is created; but when the time passes, as it has done repeatedly, those who moved out upon time fall back into coldness, darkness, and sin, and it is almost impossible to arouse their consciences without some great excitement. {4T 308.1}

".....the people will not have another message upon definite time. After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844." {CTr 344.5}

"There will always be false and fanatical movements made by persons in the church who claim to be led of God--those who will run before they are sent and will give day and date for the occurrence of unfulfilled prophecy. The enemy is pleased to have them do this, for their successive failures and leading into false lines cause confusion and unbelief.--2SM 84 (1897). {LDE 35.2}
