Sara's Example

By John Vega

October 22, 2022

Dear Modern Day John The Baptists,

Praise God! Another successful literature distribution mission at a Trump rally. This time it was at Minden Nevada airport on October 8, 2022.

It was a great honor to be accompanied by my new friend Bryan Kohl. I am so used to traveling and working alone that it feels a little awkward having somebody around but Bryan was great company, very enthusiastic, encouraging and he worked hard passing out the books. Bryan has a burden for souls and he gave out at least half of the books that I had in my car!! Without Bryan the mission wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable or successful.

Brian showed up at my cabin at about 6 AM on Sabbath morning. We drove directly east over the Sierra mountains down into Nevada. We arrived at the Carson City Nevada Seventh-day Adventist Church at around 9:30. When we arrived at the church we immediately notified everybody that we planned on going to the Trump rally to distribute Adventist literature and especially The Great Controversy. When I told told the head elder our plans he said to me "Do you have a bulletproof jacket?" I didn't even know what to say but of course the answer is no.

Bottom line is that not a single person from the Carson City Seventh-day Adventist church was even remotely excited about helping us, NOT EVEN THE TWO BIBLE WORKERS/LITERATURE EVANGELISTS FROM SOULS WEST. All they wanted to do was have US pass out their flyers advertising for a televised evangelistic series by Shawn Boonstra. They didn't even wanna come to pass out their own fliers so of course we refused their fliers. Not a single person from the church came to help us.

Below are a few pictures from the rally

Bryan Kohl

When fellowship dinner was over Bryan and I drove to the Trump rally and passed out 1000 books. Most of the books we put on car door handles because we wanted to get one book to every family and we had a limited supply of books compared to the massive crowd of wonderful loving Christian Trump supporters that were in attendance.

The Trump crowd is the nicest, most wholesome AND MOST RECEPTIVE crowd I have ever distributed literature to in my 30 years of literature evangelism. EVERYONE is kind and loving , cheerful and polite. I love working the Trump rallies because they are such kind, loving and happy group of people and most of them are Christians. It would be great to see every Seventh-day Adventist at these Trump rallies.

Please remember that when we distribute Seventh-day Adventist literature we are giving the modern John the Baptist message which is in stark contrast to any other Christian churches message.

Ellen G. White from the book Testimonies for the Church Volume 7 Page 138

"The publications sent forth from our printing houses are to prepare a people to meet God. Throughout the world they are to do the same work that was done by John the Baptist for the Jewish nation. By startling messages of warning, God's prophet awakened men from worldly dreaming. Through him God called backsliding Israel to repentance. By his presentation of truth he exposed popular delusions. In contrast with the false theories of his time, truth in his teaching stood forth as an eternal certainty. "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand," was John's message (Matthew 3:2). This same message, through the publications from our printing houses, is to be given to the world today.—Testimonies for the Church 7:138, 139.

If you can't manage to make it to these rallies to help distribute literature yourself I sure could use your prayers. Please pray that the small amount of books I have on hand will be miraculously multiplied just like Jesus multiplied the loaves and the fishes 2000 years ago. Also pray that Heavenly Father will send more people to help and get involved in literature evangelism while we still have freedom to travel and give the John the Baptist message through literature.

Lastly, I would like to close with this quote from The pen of inspiration that has given me the most encouragement to continue distributing Seventh-day Adventist literature in the last 6 years or so. The quote is from the book "Christ's Object Lessons" by Ellen G. White.

"The sower went forth to sow" (R.V.). In the East the state of affairs was so unsettled, and there was so great danger from violence that the people dwelt chiefly in walled towns, and the husbandmen went forth daily to their labor outside the walls. So Christ, the heavenly Sower, went forth to sow. He left His home of security and peace, left the glory that He had with the Father before the world was, left His position upon the throne of the universe. He went forth, a suffering, tempted man; went forth in solitude, to sow in tears, to water with His blood, the seed of life for a world lost. – {COL 36.1} His servants in like manner must go forth to sow. When called to become a sower of the seed of truth, Abraham was bidden, "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee." Genesis 12:1. "And he went out, not knowing whither he went." Hebrews 11:8. So to the apostle Paul, praying in the temple at Jerusalem, came the message from God, "Depart; for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles." Acts 22:21. So those who are called to unite with Christ must leave all, in order to follow Him. Old associations must be broken up, plans of life relinquished, earthly hopes surrendered. In toil and tears, in solitude, and through sacrifice, must the seed be sown. – {COL 36.2}

Please pray for all the people who received the books
God bless you all.
Love,

John Vega
