True Wisdom - The Commandments, Statutes and Judgments

First off we must all come to realize that wisdom is not some magical word. When we pray for wisdom from the Giver of wisdom we need search no further than His word to find out exactly what true wisdom is. King Solomon is documented in the Scripture as the wisest man that ever lived and yet king Solomon was instructed by his father king David "to keep His statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments" 1 Kings 2:3.
These laws that David specifically instructed his son Solomon to keep were written by "Moses, the prophet whom Elohim honored above all other mortals"{RH, September 14, 1886 par. 10} and Moses made it clear that the keeping of the "statutes and judgments" were Israels "wisdom and understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation [is] a wise and understanding people." Deut 4:5,6

2:1 Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
2:2 I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man;
2:3 And keep the charge of Yahuwah thy Elohim, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

Deut 4:5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as Yahuwah my Elohim commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
4:6 Keep therefore and do [them]; for this [is] your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation [is] a wise and understanding people.

IF we desire to reflect the character of our Messiah and to survive the horrible circumstances that are soon to come upon us in the time of trouble then we must learn to highly esteem the statutes just as King David did.

119:8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

119:48 My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.

119:117 Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.

119:145 KOPH. I cried with [my] whole heart; hear me, O Yahuwah: I will keep thy statutes.

19:7 The law of Yahuwah [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Yahuwah [is] sure, making wise the simple.
19:8 The statutes of Yahuwah [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of Yahuwah [is] pure, enlightening the eyes.
19:9 The fear of Yahuwah [is] clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of Yahuwah [are] true [and] righteous altogether.
19:10 More to be desired [are they] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: [and] in keeping of them [there is] great reward.

King Solomon advises us to be perfect and to walk in the statutes.

1 Kings 8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yahuwah our Elohim, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

And then we have King Yahushua who instructed His disciples to be perfect

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Are the Statutes a Salvation Issue?

I'm familiar with many people that believe in salvation by minimal-ism. Such teach that all we need to do is believe and they hate any further knowledge or instruction about Yahuwa's law and our need to repent and stop breaking that law.
Many people that believe like this say to me...

"But John, is this really a salvational issue? Does it really matter that much weather we keep those old testament feast days or not?"

To which I answer from Scripture....

Then of course we have the writings of Ellen G. White that teach us in no uncertain terms that the statutes should be studied and obeyed by the people of Elohim today. I now present you with a mountain of evidence from her writings that Satan has always hated, attempted to replace and undermine Yahuwah's statutes.

Precepts Given to Guard Decalogue.--In consequence of continual transgression, the moral law was repeated in awful grandeur from Sinai. Messiah gave to Moses religious precepts which were to govern everyday life. These statutes were explicitly given to guard the ten ommandments. They were not shadowy types to pass away with the death of Messiah. They were to be binding upon men in every age as long as time should last. These commands were enforced by the power of the moral law, and they clearly and definitely explained that law. (ST April 15, 1875 [Reprinted in RH May 6, 1875]). {1BC 1104.4}

"He did not even then trust His precepts to the memory of a people who were prone to forget His requirements, but wrote them upon tables of stone. He would remove from Israel all possibility of mingling heathen traditions with His holy precepts, or of confounding His requirements with human ordinances or customs. But He did not stop with giving them the precepts of the Decalogue. The people had shown themselves so easily led astray that He would leave no door of temptation unguarded. Moses was commanded to write, as Elohim should bid him, judgments and laws giving minute instruction as to what was required. These directions relating to the duty of the people to Elohim, to one another, and to the stranger were only the principles of the Ten Commandments amplified and given in a specific manner, that none need err. They were designed to guard the sacredness of the ten precepts engraved on the tables of stone. {PP 364.1} "During the thousand years between the first and the second resurrection, the Judgment of the wicked takes place. The apostle Paul points to this Judgment as an event that follows the second advent. "Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts." [1 Corinthians 4:5.] Daniel declares that when the Ancient of days came, "Judgment was given to the saints of the Most High." [Daniel 7:22.] At this time the righteous reign as kings and priests unto Elohim . John in the Revelation says: "I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them." "They shall be priests of Elohim and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." [Revelation 20:4, 6; 1 Corinthians 6:2,3.] It is at this time that, as foretold by Paul, "the saints shall judge the world." [Revelation 20:4, 6; 1 Corinthians 6:2, 3.] In union with Christ they judge the wicked, comparing their acts with the statute book, the Bible, and deciding every case according to the deeds done in the body. Then the portion which the wicked must suffer is meted out, according to their works; and it is recorded against their names in the book of death." {GC88 660.3}

Elohim is now testing and proving His people. Character is being developed. Angels are weighing moral worth, and keeping a faithful record of all the acts of the children of men. Among Elohim's professed people are corrupt hearts; but they will be tested and proved. That Elohim who reads the hearts of everyone, will bring to light hidden things of darkness where they are often least suspected, that stumbling blocks which have hindered the progress of truth may be removed, and Elohim have a clean and holy people to declare His statutes and judgments. {1T 332.3} The Captain of our salvation leads His people on step by step, purifying and fitting them for translation, and leaving in the rear those who are disposed to draw off from the body, who are not willing to be led, and are satisfied with their own righteousness.

The above statment makes it abundantly clear that those that teach against the statutes and judgment message are self righteous.

The sacred statutes which Satan has hated and sought to destroy, will be honored throughout a sinless universe (Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 342).

In seeking to cast contempt upon the divine statutes, Satan has perverted the doctrines of the Bible, and errors have thus become incorporated into the faith of thousands who profess to believe the Scriptures. The last great conflict between truth and error is but the final struggle of the long-standing controversy concerning the law of Elohim. Upon this battle we are now entering—a battle between the laws of men and the precepts of Yahuwah, between the religion of the Bible and the religion of fable and tradition. {GC 582.2}

To the very close of the controversy in heaven, the great usurper continued to justify himself. When it was announced that with all his sympathizers he must be expelled from the abode of bliss, then the rebel leader boldly avowed his contempt for the Creator's law. He denounced the divine statutes as a restriction of their liberty, and declared that it was his purpose to secure the abolition of law. With one accord, Satan and his host threw the blame of their rebellion wholly upon Messiah, declaring that if they had not been reproved, they would never have rebelled. {GC 499.2}

When error in one garb has been detected, Satan only masks it in a different disguise, and multitudes receive it as eagerly as at the first. When the people found Romanism to be a deception, and he could not through this agency lead them to transgression of Elohim's law, he urged them to regard all religion as a cheat, and the Bible a fable; and casting aside the divine statutes, they gave themselves up to unbridled iniquity. {GC 285.1}

The discord which his own course had caused in Heaven, Satan charged upon the law and government of Elohim. All evil he declared to be the result of the divine administration. He claimed that it was his own object to improve upon the statutes of Yahuwah. Therefore it was necessary that he should demonstrate the nature of his claims, and show the working out of his proposed changes in the divine law. His own work must condemn him. Satan had claimed from the first that he was not in rebellion. The whole universe must see the deceiver unmasked. {GC88 498.2}

In this age of the world, when Satan is seeking, through manifold agencies, to blind the eyes of men and women to the binding claims of the law of Elohim, there is need of men who can cause many to "tremble at the commandment of our Elohim" (Ezra 10:3). There is need of true reformers, who will point transgressors to the great Lawgiver and teach them that "the law of Yahuwah is perfect, converting the soul" (Psalm 19:7). There is need of men mighty in the Scriptures, men whose every word and act exalts the statutes of Yahuwah, men who seek to strengthen faith. Teachers are needed, oh, so much, who will inspire hearts with reverence and love for the Scriptures. {PK 623.4}

By the translation of Enoch Yahuwah designed to teach an important lesson. There was danger that men would yield to discouragement, because of the fearful results of Adam's sin. Many were ready to exclaim, "What profit is it that we have feared Yahuwah and have kept His ordinances, since a heavy curse is resting upon the race, and death is the portion of us all?" But the instructions which Elohim gave to Adam, and which were repeated by Seth, and exemplified by Enoch, swept away the gloom and darkness, and gave hope to man, that as through Adam came death, so through the promised Redeemer would come life and immortality. Satan was urging upon men the belief that there was no reward for the righteous or punishment for the wicked, and that it was impossible for men to obey the divine statutes. But in the case of Enoch, Elohim declares "that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6. He shows what He will do for those who keep His commandments. Men were taught that it is possible to obey the law of Elohim; that even while living in the midst of the sinful and corrupt, they were able, by the grace of Elohim, to resist temptation, and become pure and holy. They saw in his example the blessedness of such a life; and his translation was an evidence of the truth of his prophecy concerning the hereafter, with its award of joy and glory and immortal life to the obedient, and of condemnation, woe, and death to the transgressor. {PP 88.2}

From the first the great controversy had been upon the law of Elohim. Satan had sought to prove that Elohim was unjust, that His law was faulty, and that the good of the universe required it to be changed. In attacking the law he aimed to overthrow the authority of its Author. In the controversy it was to be shown whether the divine statutes were defective and subject to change, or perfect and immutable. {PP 69.1}

Says the prophet, "When Thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Let favor be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness, . . . and will not behold the majesty of Yahuwah." Isaiah 26:9, 10. Thus it was after the Flood. Released from His judgments, the inhabitants of the earth again rebelled against Yahuwah. Twice Elohim's covenant and His statutes had been rejected by the world. Both the people before the Flood and the descendants of Noah cast off the divine authority. Then Elohim entered into covenant with Abraham, and took to Himself a people to become the depositaries of His law. To seduce and destroy this people, Satan began at once to lay his snares. The children of Jacob were tempted to contract marriages with the heathen and to worship their idols. But Joseph was faithful to Elohim, and his fidelity was a constant testimony to the true faith. It was to quench this light that Satan worked through the envy of Joseph's brothers to cause him to be sold as a slave in a heathen land. Elohim overruled events, however, so that the knowledge of Himself should be given to the people of Egypt. Both in the house of Potiphar and in the prison Joseph received an education and training that, with the fear of Elohim, prepared him for his high position as prime minister of the nation. From the palace of the Pharaohs his influence was felt throughout the land, and the knowledge of Elohim spread far and wide. The Israelites in Egypt also became prosperous and wealthy, and such as were true to Elohim exerted a widespread influence. The idolatrous priests were filled with alarm as they saw the new religion finding favor. Inspired by Satan with his own enmity toward the Elohim of heaven, they set themselves to quench the light. To the priests (church leaders) was committed the education of the heir to the throne, and it was this spirit of determined opposition to Elohim and zeal for idolatry that molded the character of the future monarch, and led to cruelty and oppression toward the Hebrews. {PP 332.2}
During the forty years after the flight of Moses from Egypt, idolatry seemed to have conquered. Year by year the hopes of the Israelites grew fainter. Both king and people exulted in their power, and mocked the Elohim of Israel. This grew until it culminated in the Pharaoh who was confronted by Moses. When the Hebrew leader came before the king with a message from "Yahuwah, Elohim of Israel," it was not ignorance of the true Elohim, but defiance of His power, that prompted the answer, "Who is Yahuwah, that I should obey His voice? . . . I know not Yahuwah." From first to last, Pharaoh's opposition to the divine command was not the result of ignorance, but of hatred and defiance. {PP 333.1}

Never has there been a time when men were safe
to cherish hatred and defiance of Elohim. We all need
to humble ourselves today and ask Elohim to help us
understand his Stautes, the same statutes that Satan
has been waring against ever since his rebellion in heaven.

Elohim 's dealings with rebellion will result in fully unmasking the work that has so long been carried on under cover. The results of Satan's rule, the fruits of setting aside the divine statutes, will be laid open to the view of all created intelligences. The law of Elohim will stand fully vindicated. It will be seen that all the dealings of Elohim have been conducted with reference to the eternal good of His people, and the good of all the worlds that He has created. Satan himself, in the presence of the witnessing universe, will confess the justice of Elohim 's government and the righteousness of His law. {PP 338.4}

The records of sacred history declare, that while Elohim is a Elohim of justice, strict to mark iniquity, and strong to punish the sinner, he is also a Elohim of truth, compassion, and abundant mercy. While he visits judgments upon the transgressors of his law and the enemies of his people, he will protect those who respect his statutes and show kindness to his chosen. {ST, August 24, 1882 par. 17}

Dear Reader,
Do you desire to escape the coming plagues that will destroy all those that fight against the truth as it is in Yahushua? Then please heed this warning given in sincerity and Brotherly concern. Stop fighting against the statute message with the feast days. Take a stand with Yahuwah and His people and against Satan and his forces. Begin studying and teaching the Eliyah message mentioned in the book of Malachi chapter 4 today. I do not want to witness you being destroy all because you were too proud to admit that you were falsely educated by your leaders. Please allow our loving Father to protect you. It will not be a pretty picture on judgment day if you continue to harden your heart against this timely and important truth. Pleas take note and pray about it. Yah can put a hedge around us and protect us like he did for Job but if we continue to fight against his laws we will forfeit his divine protection. Remember that Yah is not mocked.

Now Back to Walter and His Unfortunate Situation

"But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries." Exodus 23:22

In below video Walter attacks the feast days of Leviticus 23 as well as the sacred name. Walter is resolutely fighting against the EliYahu message spoken of in Malachi 4. How can Yahuwah be an enemy to Walter's enemies when Walter is not obeying Yahuwa's voice?

Men professing to stand as watchmen on the walls of Zion speak of the Jewish age as one of darkness. They represent the religion of the Hebrews as consisting of mere forms and ceremonies, and present in striking contrast the glorious light and privileges of the gospel age. While it is pleasing to Elohim that we prize the blessings of the gospel, he is dishonored, and Messiah's mission is misrepresented, by those who belittle his work in ancient times, as seen from the history of Adam down to the Messiahian era. {RH, September 14, 1886 par. 9}
In what contrast to the teachings of these men are the words of Moses, the prophet whom Elohim honored above all other mortals, talking with him face to face, as a man speaketh with a friend. Moses possessed a spirit which is rarely found at the present day. He had a sacred regard for the right, a morality unmingled with selfishness and policy, and grandly rising above respect for times and people. Moses fully understood the force of his words, as he challenged the Hebrew host: "For what nation is there so great, who hath Elohim so nigh unto them, as Yahuwah our Elohim is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?"

In closing I want to say that I'm deeply saddened that Walter Veith has chosen to use his wonderful teaching and speaking talents to fight against the EliYahu message spoken of in Malachi 4. My sincere and heart felt prayer and cry unto Yahuwah today is that Walter and many other Seventh-day Adventist preachers will take note and come to realize that it is more important to obey the statutes of Yahuwah and loose their job with the Corporate Seventh-day Adventist structure than it is to disobey and receive punishment directly from Yahuwah's hand.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

Yahuwah loves us very, very much and He will use every method possible to correct and chasten those whom he loves so that they might not be damned to the second resurrection and the lake of fire. Walter and all Seventh-day Adventist televangelists must take serious consideration and remember that there are very dire consequences awaiting those who presume to reject, fight and teach against the EliYahu message as it is not mere men that they are fighting against but Yahuwah Almighty.

Walter is a controversial speaker and I enjoy many of his presentations but when it comes to his understanding of the key role that literal Israel plays in end time prophecy he is dead wrong. Walter totally misses the mark on this subject as best as I can understand. I believe this situation with the German government and Walter is a warning to all of us to take a serious second look at what we believe concerning the Jews, the land of Israel and the Elijah message..
Let us remember that it is a dangerous thing to war against Elohim and his statutes while claiming to be his spokesperson. This is what I believe Walter is doing and it is very deceptive and appealing to the flesh of those that like to hate on the Jews and the Elijah message.. "Boast not against the branches" Rom 11:18 is what we are told by the Apostle Paul and yet we seem to do the exact opposite in the Seventh-day Adventist church...

Religion in the Home.--The light esteem in which the law of Elohim is held, even by religious leaders, has been productive of great evil. The teaching which has become so wide-spread that the divine statutes are no longer binding upon men, is the same as idolatry in its effect upon the morals of the people. Those who seek to lessen the claims of Elohim's holy law are striking directly at the foundation of the government of families and nations. Religious parents, failing to walk in his statutes, do not command their household to keep the way of Yahuwah. The law of Elohim is not made the rule of life. The children, as they make homes of their own, feel under no obligation to teach their children what they themselves have never been taught. And this is why there are so many Elohim less families; this is why depravity is so deep and wide-spread. {CE 220.1}

When faithful teachers expound the Word of Elohim , there arise men of learning, ministers professing to understand the Scriptures, who denounce sound doctrine as heresy, and thus turn away inquirers after truth. Were it not that the world is hopelessly intoxicated with the wine of Babylon, multitudes would be convicted and converted by the plain, cutting truths of the Word of Elohim . But religious faith appears so confused and discordant, that the people know not what to believe as truth. The sin of the world's impenitence lies at the door of the church. {GC88 389.1}

"For His church in every generation Elohim has a special truth and a special work. The truth that is hid from the worldly wise and prudent is revealed to the child-like and humble. It calls for self-sacrifice. It has battles to fight and victories to win. At the outset its advocates are few. By the great men of the world and by a world-conforming church, they are opposed and despised. " {COL 78.2} ~ E.G.

PECULIAR AND RAPID CHANGES WILL SOON TAKE PLACE, AND Elohim’S PEOPLE ARE TO BE ENDOWED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, so that with heavenly wisdom they may meet the emergencies of this age, and as far as possible counteract the demoralizing movements of the world. If the church is not asleep, it the followers of Messiah watch and pray, they may have light to comprehend and appreciate the movements of the enemy.-- {Christian Service,254.5}
