AN OPEN LETTER TO
October 20, 2016 Dear Brother Larre, I intentionally omitted the title "pastor", not to be disrespectful but because of the following principle of Christ as expressed by Sister White. "Yahushua (Jesus) impressed upon the people that they were to give no man a title of honor indicating his control of their conscience or their faith." Desire of Ages p 613.2 It was good seeing you and everyone else at the Golden Feather church chilli cookoff last Sunday. I and my guests Jerry and Renee had a very nice time. Thank you for taking the time to write me (letter below). Thank you for clarifying the conditions necessary for me to enjoy fellowship at the churches and church functions that you are overseeing. I have to tell you plainly that I can not accept the terms and conditions for fellowship that you have outlined for me to follow in order to continue enjoying fellowship with your churches and church functions as they are based upon the traditions of men and not upon the commandments of God. Better men than I have said "we ought to obey God rather than man." That being said, I also want to explain in greater detail why it is impossible for me, a conscientious, 5th generation, Bible believing Seventh-day Adventist missionary to conform to your request. After many years of study and careful investigation of the subject of God's holidays I determined that If the eternal nature of God's feast days as listed in Leviticus 23 can not be studied and evangelized at the churches you are overseeing then my conscious can not allow me to attend. The reasons are as follows. Time is the essence of life and the best way we can show our love for someone is to meet with them and spend personal time with them. Sometimes fathers are too busy to spend time with their children so they purchase gifts for their children rather than spending time with them but gifts are never as good as if the father actualy spent time with the children he claims to love. We have a heavenly Father who not only showers us with tokens of his love and who sent His only begotten son as a free gift to us but who also loves to meet with us His children to spend time with Him and each other at specific times of the day, week and year and to celebrate the eternal love he has for them. I chose to obey God and spend time with Yahuwah when he determines I should. This is one of the primary ways that God's children are expected and commanded to demonstrate their love for God and God's converted Children love to do the will of their Father which is in heaven. God's loving children do not dread to spend time with their heavenly Father but rather they are always excited and eager and they make plans well in advance of the scheduled holidays how and where they will spend time with God and their brothers and sisters during the commanded seasons of joy. While I am writing this reply to your letter (copied below) I would like to take opportunity to share with you a quick study on how the Apostle Paul celebrated the feast of Passover and unleavened bread with his gentile Philippian converts after the cross and how Paul later wrote to the Philippians and encouraged them to continue putting into practice what they had seen Paul do. Acts 20:6 "And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. Sister White's Commentary on The Philippians Celebration of Passover "At Philippi Paul tarried to keep the Passover. Only Luke remained with him, the other members of the company passing on to Troas to await him there. The Philippians were the most loving and truehearted of the apostle’s converts, and during the eight days of the feast he enjoyed peaceful and happy communion with them." – {AA 390.4}
Before Paul wrote the book of the Philippians, the Philippians had observed Paul celebrate Passover and the feast of unleavened bread with them. Keep that in mind while reading this. "Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4:9 Contrary to the opinion of most Seventh-day Adventists, the Philippians were not Jews and Paul did not observe the feast of unleavened bread with the Philippians because he was trying to influence the Jewish population in that city, There was no Jewish population or Jewish synagogue in that city. This explains why the Philippians would habitually worship and pray down at the riverside and not in a synagogue. Paul was not in Philippi celebrating the feast of unleavened bread with the Philippians because they were Jewish. Paul was there celebrating the feast of Passover and unleavened bread with the gentile Philippian converts because he was walking in obedience to a perpetual commandment of God. Leviticus 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover. Following in the blueprint worship patterns of the primitive church and the Apostles is the only religion that Christ ever approved of and that is the primary focus of every truly converted Christian. A Profession Of Faith From The Church Of Constantinople in the year 325 C.E.(A.D.)
Under The Emperor Constantine I renounce all customs, rites, legalisms. unleavened breads & sacrifices of lambs of the Hebrews,and all other feasts of the Hebrews, sacrifices, prayers, aspersions, purifications, sanctifications and propitiations and fasts, and new moons, and Sabbaths, and superstitions, and hymns and chants and observances and Synagogues, and the food and drink of The Hebrews; in one word, I renounce everything Jewish, every law, rite and custom and if afterwards I shall wish to deny and return to Jewish superstition, or shall be found eating with The Jews, or feasting with them, or secretly conversing and condemning the Christian religion instead of openly confuting them and condemning their vain faith, then let the trembling of Gehazi cleave to me, as well as the legal punishments to which I acknowledge myself liable. And may I be anathema in the world to come, and may my soul be set down with Satan and the devils.

I have resolutely and conscientiously decided long ago NOT to follow in the religion of Constantine. I have decided to live by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God and to celebrate ALL of God's holidays and not just the Seventh-day Sabbath. "And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law [Torah], and commandments which I HAVE WRITTEN; that thou mayest teach them."(Exo. 24:12) On Thursday, October 20, 2016, larre kostenko <larre.kostenko@nccsda.com> wrote: It was great to see you at the social and meet your friends. Per a church board vote, just a heads up, you are welcome to attend church functions and SS & Church, as long as you do not use the church as a forum to promote your beliefs/ideas that differ from those of the church. This would include promoting those ideas among our church family in person, or by other means such as e mail. Please let me know that you got this message.
